Streak and XP Leveling Adjustments [April 2024]

Not caring about leveling anymore is the best solution. It’s been ruined with the absurd complexity and moving goalposts. A beginner should want to level up if they want to buy in-game equipment and everyone else not so much.

I agree with Paul, I don’t care about levels now, I used to have the goal of leveling up once a week but as it’s now 10,000 XP between my current levels I ignore it.
It’s actually made me use Zwift a lot less during the week, I’m sure that wasn’t their intention.

I have exactly the same. Even made a sheet how much I needed to do each week to get to level 100 before the end of the year. Now I just cant be bothered much after the latest changes.

The best solution is is to set one schedule for level advancement and introduce infinite levels. Those that have banked XP would be imediately leveled up to their corresposnding amount of XP. No more waky “banked XP” formulas. Those that have been around for a long time will be rewarded with a higher level those that are at lower levels can be motivated to constantly improve with reasonable advancement.

Any update on what is planned and when it will be introduced?

Been around on Zwift since many years, ride about 5 days per week except when I ‚m on holiday, minimum km per week are around 100.
leveling up was and is a slow process for myself, as I usually don’t seek out events with extra points.
I do look at my levels, currently on 99. Guess I manage to reach the next level in a couple of weeks.
But leveling up isn’t my priority, more like yourself trying to keep up my fitness.
But I often do wonder how folks can be on very high levels already and don’t have any miles to show for it.
Keep on riding

Hi.

Just restarted with Zwift, I’ve been a 50+ level, so I’m now on triple-chevron accelerated levelling, and that’s confirmed by the pause menu.

While riding after a pace robot the game always show me a +30 xp gain per kilometer. This looks like an odd number. Must be 40, I’ll understand if 20, but 30?

Btw on Tour of Watopia event I got 40 xp per kilometer …

Any hint about that odd 30? Ty. Paolo

What route was the pace bot on, if one of the Tour of Watopia routes then you would be getting 1.5x XP per km, the double xp per km was only in official events, but you can free ride any of the routes and get 1.5x

Yep was Tempus Fugit and Desert Flats, ty.

Did we all forget about this?
What about the discussion about getting rid of banked XP?

Some of us have long memories and didn’t forget.

And it feels even more relevant now, given that people can get XP for not riding on Zwift. Riding outside using some manufacturer’s head units gives XP? Bizarre.

I dunno. I pay each month and hardly use the platform at the moment. I guess I’m the ideal customer.

Nothing appearing to have changed on my companion app. Have updated, relinked multiple times and nothing. Pretty much at the point of just deleting it.
Any tips out there

Is the update even out yet?? Chill out my friend - give it time to roll out! I dont have it either

Not that it really matters, but I recently verified that if you finish your first ride of the week, extending your streak, while on a fully upgraded entry level bike that grants 5% additional XP, that does NOT apply to the 500 XP streak bonus.

I had wondered about this. so thanks for sharing!

Is there a way to tell what date you reached level 100? I’ve been unofficially keeping track of levels after 100, but I failed to tag my ride where I reached level 100, now working on unofficial level 196. :man_shrugging: I can kind of guess with calculating XP and converting to miles, but that’s not reliable given the bonuses for routes and streaks, etc.

The only way I can think of is to review the activities and look for one with the “level up” badge on it. However it may not have occurred during an activity due to the streak bonus.

Look back through saved rides in companion app (if you saved them) and you’ll see one with the jersey unlock as well as level up, assuming it happened during your ride:

You will need to remember approximately when this occurred then it’s fairly easy. That was February 10, 2024 for me. Now I’m at unofficial level 146.

Thanks for the hint, Chris, found mine on Feb 7, 2024 after lots of scrolling. It sure would be nice if Zwift added a simple date filter on the activities feed :man_shrugging:… yet it’s still fun to know I’m not the only one keeping track of the “unofficial level” :+1:

Quite a lot of people are doing that actually - more than you’d think.
