I wanted to open a discussion about Zwift’s subscription pricing and whether the company should consider regional pricing adjustments or a family plan, similar to what Strava recently introduced.
1. Regional Pricing – A Fairer Model for Emerging Markets?
Strava recently introduced regional pricing for countries with weaker currencies. For example, in Colombia (South America), their annual subscription normally costs USD 79,99, but it was reduced to COP 129.900 (roughly USD 29 per year). That’s only 36% of the original cost, making it far more accessible while still ensuring revenue for Strava.
Zwift’s current monthly price is USD 19,99 + tax, which in my country translates to nearly USD 23 (COP 100.000). The economic gap makes a huge difference in affordability.
Wouldn’t it make sense for Zwift to follow a similar model and adjust pricing to match local economies? This could increase subscriptions in regions where cycling is growing but affordability is an issue, especially considering alternatives like MyWhoosh and indieVelo.
2. A Family Plan – Making Zwift More Accessible to Households
Strava also launched a Family Plan for 4 users at COP 79.000 each / per year (instead of COP 129.900 if they subscribed separately). 61% of the individual cost.
Right now, Zwift does not offer any family or multi-member subscription, which can be limiting for households where multiple people want to train.
Would a family plan or discounted bundle for multiple users be something the community would support?
3. Can Zwift Do Something About It?
I reached out to Zwift support, and while they didn’t confirm any plans for regional pricing or a family plan, they acknowledged the topic as worth discussing. They suggested bringing it up here in the forums to gauge community interest.
