Shimano A or B Style Virtual Shifting?

Hi Community,

I’m a Zwift Ride newbie and just received my new Wahoo Kickr Core 2 with the Zwift Ride Bike — super excited to get started!

I’ve been watching loads of videos and reading tutorials, but I was hoping for a bit of advice around the Shimano Style A vs B shifting settings.

I ride a Canyon Aeroad with Shimano Di2 gearing in the real world and I’m trying to mimic that setup as closely as possible in Zwift. Some reviews and posts say to use Shimano Style A, others recommend Style B — could someone help clarify which one more closely matches Di2 road shifting?

Also, I’m a bit confused about the gearing display — does Gear 1 or Gear 2 refer to the small ring or big ring on the front of a typical road bike setup? I want to make sure I’m using the correct gearing so the experience feels natural and similar to how I ride outdoors.

Appreciate any help or insights from the group!

with the Shimano style shifting, it’s same as in real life, you count from the inside (closer to the bike) out.

On the front chain ring, gear 1 is the smaller one, 2 is the larger

On the rear cassette, gear 1 is the largest diameter gear, and then they get smaller in dia as the number gets higher.

Cheers
