See all riders in combined A,B,C,D group rides?

If you sign up for, say, the C group of a combined A,B,C,D group ride, do you see all the riders from all the groups? Do you see all the leaders (yellow beacons) from all groups?
I’m thinking about signing up for the B group in a combined group ride, but if/when I get dropped, I would join the group C peloton. Will this work?

I would like that.
No, that’s not how it works.

So if you sign up for the B section of a combined group ride, you see only the riders in the B section?
If that’s the case it seems odd that for some of them they stagger the start times of the groups, like 2 minutes apart. What’s the point of that?

@Mark_Neal Yep, that’s how it works. I usually join group C, and I only see other C riders.

It would be nice to see all the groups, even if they take different routes.

The staggered start might be to stagger the compute load on the server.

Thanks for the quick response to my question!

This depends on the individual event, there are two ‘culling’ settings, which can be Event, letting everyone in the event see each other, or Subgroup, letting everyone in a category only see their own category. I believe that if the event has staggered start times or not also plays into this. The best way to check this is to ask the Event Organizer if they requested the groups to ride together or not.

I hope this information helps clear things up for you!

Good idea to ask the event organizer. A lot of them have facebook pages where they ask for feedback.

Click on “filters” then “more filters” and can you can select “see only event category riders” or “see all categories” to filter the events where you can see the other categories or not.

Alternatively, find the event in the above website and see what settings it has.
