Yes. Watts are watts. I can ride up Alpe du Zwift at Z2 watts either as a free ride or in a workout at exactly the same power and cadence - and I have done.

Hope this helps.

I do it all the time.
For the last 2 weeks I have done my work outs using a third party app while collecting double XP on the ToW and while on a new route so collecting a route badge and XP.
During cool off, I popped a coffee break just for fun.
I love the ToW !!

Workout at steady power is different to going up and down gears, managing your cadence and feeling the gradient changes on ADZ. I’m almost certain the usual suspects will furiously disagree with that and make all sorts of explanations why it is no difference or otherwise try to obfuscate.

In the workout mode you don’t feel the parts at 12% or more, while in the “sim” mode you do and I end up at 65rpm.

But you forgot to use an E-bike! Because not a race so not an issue, right? :cowboy_hat_face:

E-bikes and coffee-stops should be allowed in races as well.

Not a Race (NaR)!

In workout mode, you may end up doing 350 watts on a 12% descending gradient at 95rpm.

So you are telling us you are doing that for the entire uphill and downhill portion?

I really would love to have the option to do workouts in zwift natively …

Incidentally there are a lot of people that set trainer difficulty to 0% and people with dumb trainers too
