Ride-on Range/Drafting Bar Graph

A feature was added recently added that graphically displays drafting effectiveness range between the rider and rider(s) in front. It would make a lot of sense for the Ride-on range to be the same as the drafting bar graph. Instead, pressing the Ride-on circle on the map has a significantly shorter range than the drafting graph. Why not make them congruent?

I suspect the current range is designed so its pretty hard to hit riders going in the opposite direction. Nothing wrong with the current version, it only hits like 5 riders at a time anyway.

You can be right next to someone going in the opposite direction and you still won’t give them a ride on.

Are you sure as this is what it says in Zwift Ride On information-
“The Ride Ons will go to Zwifters cycling or running in either direction”

Oooh. Either it’s changed (because I tested it many moons ago) or my memory is shot. Or that article could be wrong.

All 3 are equally possible

I give people ride-ons who are climbing the alpe while I’m descending often, so I’m able to give riders ride-ons in that scenario where they are traveling the opposite direction.

Interesting. My perception is that my ability to send RO’s to riders in the opposite direction went away about a year ago. I thought it must be a purposeful design change. I’ll experiment.

Then again, why make them the same?

I think I have had ride-ons on ADZ from people going opposite direction.

As far as I could see, they were not ahead of me or behind me, and were not followers.

Giving Ride Ons to riders going in the opposite direction (and vice-versa on receiving them) never went away.

Seems logical to me that if there’s a drafting influence they should be w/in RO range. You have a fair point - It’s a design decision ultimately. My perception is that when Zwift animated the RO with the expanding ring, they also decreased the effective distance. It seems so impotent now unless you’re in a group ride/tightly bunched.
