when will a replacement chain for a zwift ride be made available? I’m not sure what replacement chain to use. I’ve heard a 9 speed chain but I’m not sure.

For the Zwift Ride, the appropriate chain is not a 9-speed chain. Instead, it uses a single-speed chain as shared in our article. Specifically, we recommend the KMC Z1 narrow chain, which features 3/32" width, 1/2" pitch, and 98 links.

Like any bike chain, its lifespan will depend on cleanliness, periodic lubrication, and how much strain it experiences (your power). Use a chain checker to evaluate wear. Lots of YouTube videos on the subject. Try the ones from Park Tool.
