I ran Bridge and Boardwalks today by selecting the route and then running. I crossed the finish line and had no pop up banner indicating I’d finished the route so I ran for an extra few minutes but nothing popped up. After exiting the run and going back in the route selector also indicated I hadn’t completed it.
I notice this was a bug reported back in 2022 too.
Bridges and Boardwalks is a cycling only badge.
You can literally select it as a named running route badge of roughly 8km.
Being able to select it as a route does not necessarily mean there is a badge.

Fair enough, let’s say there is no badge. Now that I’ve completed it why does it not show as completed on the route selection screen?
There will only be the the grey/green route completed markers against routes with running route badges.
So Bridges & Boardwalks won’t show whether you’ve completed it on the route list, but the next route on the (alphabetically sorted) list (castle crit) will (and below that -castle to castle- also won’t show any completion status).

That route is not a designated running route. Therefore you’ll get no badge, banner or XP for running it.
You can run any route on Zwift but only a certain few routes (27) are designated running routes that your earn rewards for.

Super, that helps a lot thanks, so how do I know which 27 routes give badges when I am on the running route selection screen? Or do I go elsewhere for that information?
Easiest way is on ZwiftHacks: Routes
Hit the button for the running badge

In game when choosing a route you’ll see an icon to the left of the route name. It’ll be greyed out if you’ve not completed it and green if you have.
No icon means it’s not a designated running route.
Happy badge hunting.

Fabulous, thank you all, that clarifies a lot.
