When starting a race - I’m recording power but the velocity values read zero for around 5 seconds. This is putting me off the back of the race bunch. This has happened a couple of times - and the image shows the race on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 - the start of the ZRL race.
For this race my avatar was not moving even with power being recorded - and all the riders just stream past. I then have to chase to get back to the bunch.
Do you have play controllers, maybe accidentally hitting the breaks?
I think I had the same thing happen to me. I’m thinking, ever since the update. Not sure which rides, but I noticed that my avatar wasn’t peddling, then it seemed to go. I didn’t think much of it.
Last night I did a pacer ride with Bernie. I noticed that my avatar wasn’t peddling, displaying zero watts. I went to pairing screen, everything was connected. Returned to ride, my avatar was now peddling, but I had to push to catch back up to group. Following that, I did the baseline rode(attacking test). When I started my first 60 second test, my avatar stopped peddling and showed no watts. I kept pushing and it went.
Following that test, decided to ride the new classic route (badge hunt). Towards the end of the route, there is a sprint. I pushed a bit, and connection dropped out again. Exactly the same as the other times. I just kept pushing, and after a couple seconds, my avatar seems to go as normal again.
I have direct connect, and have had zero issues ever since getting it. I don’t believe it’s a connection issue, because it shows connected on the pairing screen.

-yes i have controllers
-but no on the breaks - my hands are nowhere near the controllers
and for this race, the controllers have been turned off
and I have virtual braking turned off
not quite the same - as you can see the power is recording fine
but the velocity calculation is done by zwift - and its calculating it as zero
have you run the log file through Zwiftalizer?
not yet - but good idea - i will do that - its here
