i got the the Zwift Hub and now bought the Zwift Ride Frame. I wanted to install it today. I removed the cassette and installed the Zwift Cog 2. I also installed the Drive-Thru Axels adapters. Of course, I set up the 142mm adapters according to the instructions. However, the frame doesn’t fit on it - I tried all the angles. It’s just too tight. At First i thought I am too dumb for this, but it became cIear, that it is not the right size. I am absolutely negatively surprised and my mood is…
Would it fit if you took the chain out of the dropout? The photos make it look like the chain is causing the issue, because it shouldn’t be where you have it.
Thanks for your advice, but the chain is placed exactly where it should be according to the setup video. This is how the frame was delivered. I haven’t changed anything about it.
If I put the frame on the Smart Trainer without the non drive-side adapter, it could be attached.
I now read in the comments of the setup video on YouTube that someone had the same problem and the rear dropouts were 20mm too narrow.
Does anyone know the measurements for this so that I can check the numbers?
Maybe the frame spacing is wrong? There have been a few reports about that. The overall length of the axle is 142mm, and there should be a 3.5mm recessed part in the frame for it to fit into, making the distance 135mm between the dropout faces. Or measure 142mm into the recessed part of the dropouts. Minor variation shouldn’t cause a problem.
If that’s what’s happening, another thing to try would be pulling the chain forward before putting the bike on the trainer, just to check fit with the chain completely out of the way. Of course that would not allow it to be ridden but it might clarify whether it’s really a frame fit issue.
