Problems with Click - alternatives?

Installed cog and Click for my elite Direto XRT.

I can connect and make it work only if I connect via smartphone Companion app. The Bluetooth connection to my PC is just not great and tends to drop in the middle of a ride. I don’t have issues connecting any other devices (elite, Garmin, HRM, Rizer, keyboard all connect fine).. but I am guessing the transmitter on the click is just not robust enough? I upgraded the Bluetooth antenna on my PC but still not keeping connection. fyi the TV and PC are about 5 feet away but PC is behind TV panel .. again though no other issues except for Click.

I have a MTB so Play won’t work.

I thought of the following but not sure what I should get specifically:

  1. use a BT media controller or game controller - how do I do this and what would work best?

  2. get drops to replace my MTB bars and use Play Probably too much work though

  3. get Play and find a way to use it from my bike desk. Or build some kind of mount or mount adapter?

  4. Any other ideas??

The Bluetooth range on the Play controllers is horrible too, mine disconnect constantly unless I use Companion app bridging.

Try a USB Bluetooth dongle on a 2m extension. It doesn’t always fix it, but very often it does, and it doesn’t cost much to try. I’m currently using the Edimax BT-8500 and have used the TP-Link UB400 prior to that. Both work well. I think TP-Link UB500 is the same chipset as the Edimax. The other BT adapter can be disabled in device manager, or perhaps in BIOS.
