Preset watt targets in workout mode

First, workout mode is great, I especially like Jon’s Short Mix, because I typically have only half an hour to ride before work in the morning and it gives me the best workout for that amount of time. Basically I need to be told what to do and when, because my willpower is weak when it comes to self-inflicted leg busting pain.

My question is how are the watt targets at the various workout stages calculated, is it based on FTP? I first did the short FTP test so Zwift knows what mine is, and it would be cool to know if/how that fits into the calculations, and under what circumstances the targets change or can be changed manually.
