We’ve added support for pairing your trainer over USB in game version 1.114+ when Zwifting on Windows or macOS devices.
The Jetblack Victory is currently the only trainer on the market that supports data transfer across an inbuilt USB port. Be sure your Victory is on the latest version firmware (v 4.28 or newer).
As new USB-capable trainers become available, Zwift will add support for them as well.
Important to note:
- This connection type requires a USB 2.0 or higher data cable. The cable must support USB data communication between devices; power-only or charge-only USB cables are not supported.
- For longer cable runs, a USB 2.0 cable degrades the signal less than a USB 3.0 or 3.1 cable.
- Connecting the USB cable directly to the PC or Mac is recommended.
- Connecting through an active USB hub drawing AC power should work reliably.
- Connecting through a passive hub (one that draws power only from the USB port) may degrade the data signal.
- Letting your PC / Mac go to sleep while Zwift remains open may shut down power to the USB ports.
Q&A’s
Q: Can I pair my Jetblack Victory to an iPad / iPhone / Apple TV / Android device?
A: Not at this time. Support for Zwift Protocol over USB is currently supported on macOS and Windows devices only.
Q: Can I pair my Zwift Ride or Zwift Play controllers through USB?
A: This will not be possible. The USB ports on Ride and Play controllers are for charging only, and do not pass data.
