I just purchased a Zwift Ride, and still learning the controls. One quirk: I don’t hear the Ride On voice when issued from either orange Z button or the down button. I always hear it when I issue it from the Zwift Companion app. What am I missing?
I don’t think you are actually giving a ride on when using the Companion App. Using the Ride On emote just makes the noise but doesn’t actually give out ride ons. To give out ride ons using the Companion App, you would click on the white circle around your position on the map screen to give out a “ride on bomb” to the 5 nearest riders around you.
If you don’t see the white circle around your position, zoom in on your position.
I thought they changed the behavior of the ride on (thumb) emote button a while ago so it did do a ride on bomb. It certainly didn’t in the past. Not a feature I use personally.
The ‘Ride On!’ emote voice is the primary reason I turned off all Zwift sounds years ago.
You mean you were fine with the “I’m toast” voice?
Thank you for all of your responses. I do know that I am definitely giving a ride on from the Zwift companion app, and that other writers acknowledge it. I’m also new enough to Zwift that I actually enjoy the right on voice… For me it’s a fun feature. I didn’t know that I could issue a ride on from my white dot on the map and I will try that next time I ride. Thanks again
That was awful, too, but not nearly as frequent. ![]()
