No Garmin HRM showing in pairing screen

Long time Zwift user. Also regularly use Trainerroad. recently there has been a change to my regular pairing screen on Zwift. Usually I have cadence, HR, power meter and smart trainer (Tacx). usually everything pairs up automatically. recently I only now get power meter and smart trainer come up automatically, and stay orange but not paired up with blue. If I restart Zwift, I might randomly get cadence and HR devices to automatically show. But Zwift cannot find the Garmin HRS. Even if I force it to find all HR devices all it finds is an device called [0] which isn’t the device I am wearing. This isn’t a pairing issue with the HR as it work normally if I switch between Zwift and Trainerroad. I understand about devices sometimes not pairing because they are paired with other apps etc. This is no that issue. Something has changed within Zwift. Also, I only ever use ANT+ for all indoor devices, for years actually, on Zwift and Trainerroad, with zero issues on Trainerroad. Can anyone suggest what has changed on Zwift recently?

Thanks

what device do you run it in? What garmin is it?

there is a new consent to use HR data that should’ve popped up when trying to pair your HRM. Did you get that?

I don’t remember a notification, but I have logged on to the Zwift website and checked to see that consent is given to use HR. So yes, consent is active

Actually my mistake, the HRM is Wahoo, but its the same one I have used without issue on Zwift for the past 3 years. battery is good

My Wahoo Tickr HRM was a travesty to reliability. Try taking the battery out, put your thumbs on the snap tabs of the module for at least 15 seconds, install the battery and try again. For me, this would work for a ride or two but in the end, I tossed it. Also, in the pairing, I have noticed Zwift does not like to automatically connect HRMs anymore (note I am traveling have not tried the latest release). Make sure you click on the All Devices tab of the HRM.

Did you try pairing with that device, anyway?

I had the same after recent Zwift update that added consent requirement.
No automatic pairing on first run after update and that [0] was the only ANT+ HR sensor listed. I gave it a try and it worked. The actual name appeared after pairing.
It was Garmin HRM 200 sensor in open mode (fw. 5.40, if that matters).

The same HRM device is working without issue on Trainerroad, and has been for the past three years, and also without issue on Zwift until about 1 week ago. The HRM is working fine

yes, and that device shows a static bpm value which looks like some kind of software default value

@Tony_Cammish

Have you seen the heart rate data consent yet? That went into effect a few weeks ago.

  1. Select the HRM In the Pairing Screen.
  2. Look under the “All” tab and not “Recommended.” Does your Wahoo show up there?
  3. When you pair for the first time, the consent prompt should pop up.
  4. If you bypassed it thinking it wasn’t required, you can re-enable it in-game settings. Look in My Settings > Permissions > Heart Rate Data Consent.

Let us know if that solves it for you?

I was having the same issue.

Accepted the consent for HRM. And then my normally reliable HRM200 was reading 0 beats per minute on zwift.

On my Garmin it was still reading normally.

In pair screen, had 3 HRMs listed, Elite trainer, HRM200 and 0.

0 was the only one that would give BPM.

Today I was back on and HRM200 connected and after a few seconds delay, showed correct BPM.

The other 2 were still showing on the pair screen, but not used.

I just have a few drop outs now occasionally where zwift disconnectes from the trainer and I temp loose all readings for power, cadence, hrm, and come to a stop, it reconnects within 10 seconds but Robo Pacer was away up the road.

Today on short sessions it seemed to be alright as I was doing climb portal runs.
