New pairing screen - nothing in 'recommended' but is in 'all

Recently acquired an Elite Direto, logged in and went to pairing screen and found that neither the Direto, or my Garmin HRM was being listed under ‘Recommended’ but do get listed under all.

Is it possible to default to ‘all’?

Hi @Dave400

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I peeked at your server logs and it appears you’re trying to troubleshoot this on a couple of different PC’s. It looks like you have an ANT+ USB dongle inserted in both - if you unplug the ANT dongle, your trainer’s Bluetooth signal will default in the Recommended tab.

Zwift still supports ANT+ devices, and the ANT signal will continue to appear in the All tab. It will not appear in the Recommended tab by design. Under the All tab, you should see the regular ANT+ option along with ANT FE-C, Bluetooth, and Bluetooth FTMS options if your devices support all the sub-protocols of ANT+ and Bluetooth. Those options are a lot of visual clutter with no meaning to most users. That’s why we added a single “Recommended” tab with one option.

Q: You don’t say one way or the other, but are you saying you see NOTHING in the Recommended tab? It should show you one Bluetooth signal for your Elite trainer, please confirm?
If nothing is there - it’s possible that your trainer is on really old firmware, and that can be updated by connecting your trainer to Elite’s Upgrado app.

Hi Shuji

Whilst I may launch Zwift on another machine on occasion, my first experience of the new pairing screen was on my main zwift PC.

The Recommended screen was blank, nothing present at all despite bluetooth being active, when I click through to All, only the ANT+ options are listed.

Firmware is on the newest version.

But still my question remains, for those of us who aren’t interested in Recommended and All, can we opt out and just have the simpler classic pairing screen by default?

It took well over 4 minutes to connect my TICKR FIT over BT on my MacMini M2, which has always been the only HR strap I’ve used on Zwift.
I kept checking both Recommended and All.

This new pairing screen is not good, IMHO.

This was not a very useful change by Zwift. Different, but not ‘better’. Now I have to find my Garmin HRM (which I’ve been using for years) under All, but not Recommended. I don’t much care for the explanation that it’s because it uses ANT+.
