New hardware detected during ride

When in the middle of a ride/race Zwift stops with pop up detecting new hardware. How to stop this from happening? I have a wahoo kicker, using Garmin for RPM, Windows 11. I am current on window updates.

Hi @Dominick_Soldano, welcome back to the forums! This is Monica, from Zwift. I’m sorry to read that in the middle of a ride/race Zwift stops with pop up detecting new hardware.

Based on the information I’ve gathered from your account, it appears that you are experiencing several Bluetooth disconnections. This situation indicates that Zwift may not be receiving all of your data packets through Bluetooth BLE.

The BLE operate within the 2.4 GHz frequency range, which can make them susceptible to interference from other devices that operate on the same frequency. Common sources of disruption can include Wi-Fi routers, microwaves, or even other Bluetooth devices nearby. It’s important to note that, as a result, these signal interference and dropouts are not typically issues that can be resolved on our end; Zwift simply processes the data that is being transmitted to it.

To assist you further, I recommend checking out this article, which details the most common causes of signal interference and suggests potential solutions. Additionally, you may find it beneficial to utilize the Zwift Companion app as a bridge. This app can convert the BLE signals from your devices into a format that your computer can more reliably interpret.

Additionally, you can reset your game preferences here.

Please take some time to try out these suggestions and let me know how it goes. Your feedback is important to us, and I am here to assist you further if you encounter any additional issues.

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Thank you Monica for the tips to fix this. I always have my iPhone nearby with the companion app running, an iPad, also, my work laptop (I tend to work on while on most rides). Haven’t noticed any issues on my end until the past week. I will try your recommendations.
