Thought on purchasing a motion plate for use with the Zwift Ride. Pros and Cons?
I cannot tell you about Zwift Ride, but I have one for my Kickr Bike - they really help with comfort on long distance indoor rides.
Just be sure that the Zwift frame fits properly and can be anchored correctly (and safely).
Which one are you using @Chris_D9 ? I’ve got a Kickr Bike too and some of them are not substantial enough for the weight of the KB…
Hi @Jim_Schloffel, welcome to the Forums! I’m Francisco from Zwift Support.
Awesome to see you’re thinking about leveling up the indoor ride feel with a motion plate.
Like @Chris_D9 mentioned, comfort is definitely one of the biggest pros, especially on longer rides. A rocker plate adds some natural side-to-side movement, which can help reduce saddle fatigue and make the ride feel a bit more like the outdoors.
That said, with the Zwift Ride, the key thing is making sure the frame actually fits and is secure on the plate. The Zwift Ride has a unique base and integrated design.. It’s worth checking with the plate manufacturer—or the Zwift community, like in this thread here—to make sure it’s compatible and can be safely anchored.
If you’re curious about how it feels in action, Zwift Insider did a solid review that’s worth a look too.
