macOS startup error ZLM04 (v1.93.2)

When trying to start Zwift app via the default shortcut then I get the error ZLM04, this is a recent issue as of last week (24.07.2025). I can however start the app ‘ZwiftAppSilicon’ from the application folder, where the game works as expected and asks you to log in.

ZLM04 error on launcher:

ZwiftAppSilicon manual start:

I am not sure what the launcher version is as the app UI is blank when trying to launch it. I have tried reinstalling; Zwift installed but then updated and got the ZLM04 error again.

OS: macOS: Sequoia (15.5) > also tried with macOS 26 (Tahoe beta)
Chip: Apple M1

Any help would be greatful.

Hi @StuM

This is Alejandra from Zwift.

Thanks for flagging the error! It looks like you’re affected by a known issue that our team is still investigating. I recommend creating a new admin-level Mac user on your computer and trying to download and launch Zwift from that new profile. You can use your regular Zwift credentials to log in.

If the issue continues, feel free to contact us. We’ll dig deeper into your account.

Have a nice day.

I have an M4 Pro Mac Mini with MacOS Tahoe beta as well, not encountering the above.

Do you have any connection issues for internet, can you try to reboot your router?

That seems to be the suggestion looking for the ZLM04 error people have reported before.

I have tried a router reboot and made a new admin-level account, both haven’t made a difference with how the error is occuring. No Internet issues to speak of, albeit the WiFi signal can be weak at times in the room I am in but haven’t had any issues in the past.

UPDATE.

After some research, it looks like it was failing to connect to the API/game URL and after a suggestion of disconnecting from WiFi, changing it to connect to my phone’s hotspot connection and then back to my WiFi, it has since resolved this issue for me.
