Irregular XP/km given on free/bot rides

Not sure when this started but I noticed the other day that at some point in a ride, I hit a km complete and do not get a +20xp. Previously on the ride I was getting them. This may happen for a couple km, and then I start getting them again. I have gotten bonus +xp under banners during this ‘outage’.

Exit the ride and start over and +xp seems normal again. (xp does not seem to be recalculated)

I thought it may correlate switching bots mid km, but that doesn’t seem to be it.

Not seeing any connection issues. No drop outs, etc.

Sounds like you are doing a workout?

You don’t get distance XP during workouts but would account for the ''bonus" XP under a banner.

The banner being the end of the block in the workout.

No, as I stated - free ride/bot only. The banner are the fixed ones on courses, like KOM/sprint.

I’ve looked and there is no reason at this end why you wouldn’t be getting the XP/km.

The only reason why this might be the case is if you start your rides with a fairly significant downhill.

Start a ride only, or jump to a bot that is going downhill as well?

The latter may be it, but the behavior is odd. Is there some mode detailed description, like a grade of -x%, or a distance/time descending? Will it reactivate consistently?

I have stayed with the bot and the xp started again, but if I’m recalling correctly, the last ride I caught this on, it seemed to be erratic when I would get xp again.

I could also swear that I have received xp havng jumped to a bot descending, now I’m questioning the context and will have to watch further

If the amount of downhill you have done is ~200m or more than the amount of uphill then this could explain it. I don’t think this would be applicable on any bot ride though.

(Essentially this is to stop people Alpe teleporting)

Your ride progress screen at the end of your ride will also tell you how much xp you have gained - I would check that out and see if it tallies with your ride distance.

An earlier test I did today - after 10k of riding - I transported to Bernie that had already started the descent from the top of Titans and I accrued xp all the way down - rode into downtown and then transported to Yumi, finished the climb to KOM bypass and then rode back into downtown and got no xp.

It’s hard to tell if my xp is correct at the end of the ride as I’ve gotten bonus +10’s here and there and I’m getting accelerated xp as I’m at L105.

I’ve now been watching every time I hit the next km to see if I get credit or not in an attempt to understand what is going on.

If you are triggering the anti XP farming counter-measures that should show up in your logs, which means support can tell you if it happened or not.
