iPhone Air Dropouts

Hi there,

I’m a long time Zwift user (about 10 years) and have always had a set up where I have several devices connected to my iPhone which then connect to a tv via the Apple lightening to hdmi cable. Devices connected to the iPhone are:

  • tacx neo trainer
  • Apple AirPods
  • Apple Watch (using heart rate thru Zwift app)

I recently upgraded my phone to an iPhone Air and it does not support 4K so the usb-c converter does not work. I have tried using apply AirPlay to my smart tv however I am getting Bluetooth drop outs. I do have Zwift companion on my phone however I’m not sure it works properly while I’m using Zwift so on the same device.

Have you seen these issues come through with the new iPhone air yet and if so do you have any solutions?

Cheers

Pete

You cannot run Zwift and Companion simultaneously on a single device. The game app must remain in the foreground all the time. Never switch apps while you are using it.

Haven’t heard of anyone else reporting problems with the iPhone Air but your setup probably isn’t very common.

Best solution would be to acquire another device to run the game, like an Apple TV box that you connect to the display, and run Companion on the phone.
