I have not received any further communication from Zwift on the matter, nor have I seen it mentioned in any of the release notes. And as of the publicly released game client I have installed today (1.90.0) video screenshots are still not an option on my machine running the Intel Core Ultra 5 235 even though all parties agree that this CPU is capable of handling them.
My previous Zwift machine was running an i9. I’ve now upgraded to a machine that is running a Core Ultra series 2, and it no longer gives the option for video screenshots. Certainly this can’t be a performance issue. Any reason why the Core Ultra chips aren’t supported?
Not sure how you have your setup but in the Zwift settings I have my screenshots turned off. Turning them off gets rid of the Automatic ones and allows you to take manual screenshots when using the Zwift Companion App. Appears to be limited to three maximum, perhaps a fourth pic would be useful for some rides.
Right. But my question was regarding support for the Intel Core Ultra processors, which are currently unsupported for video screenshots. ![]()
Are you saying my old now almost obsolete 10 year old intel CPU that I’m just about to retire the whole PC in a couple of months works but yours doesn’t ? Do you use the companion app at all ? Are we talking about the same thing ? you get 3 screen shots during a ride either pretty random or controlled by clicking the photo button in the companion app.
We’re probably talking about different things then. Are you referring to still picture screenshots, not the 10 second video clips? I recognize the terminology of “video screenshots” is weird, but it seems to be the terminology used here.
Video screenshots are currently only supported by Intel i3 (10th gen or newer), i5/i7/i9 (9th gen or newer), and Ryzen 5/7/9. This is according to the zwift support page.
The Intel Core Ultra series chips are excluded from that list.
How much RAM do you have? I think that is also a limiter to having the function available.
Having less than 8GB is supposed to make video screenshots disabled by default but the switch would be available in settings, but my understanding is that the newer Intel CPUs are simply not matching the naming conventions that they used to enable it. This is a known problem that @Rowdy is aware of. The stuff Carl is talking about is unrelated to this issue.

Haha, so this is why I have no video screenshots on my new Alienware Area 51 18 ![]()
