I have contacted Zwift support and was told the hub is broken and nothing else they can do. Anyone else had such an answer?
Yes that is the standard answer when the trainer dies out of warranty. I have not heard of any US based repair services for it, though depending on the nature of the problem, a bike shop may be able to help (for example, bearing or belt or freehub replacement). Sometimes Zwift offers a discount on a Kickr Core but I think it depends on how far out of warranty it is. Wahoo’s warranty service is more generous - they often do something more for the customer after it has expired.
Thank you for your time…huh… junk then
