How ZRS Score changes are made

Coming zoon…I believe

I don’t think we’re really in disagreement. I wasn’t making any judgment on the “best” way to use Zwift. I was just making the observation that rider will have a higher ZRS floor if they test their fitness outside of racing than someone who only does races and lower intensity workouts. This penalizes the rider who directly tests their 5min power, because they will be put in the same ZRS range as race-only riders who have considerably more 5min power potential, but have never had a reason to display the power by emptying the tank while fresh.

In the end, ZRS needs to be improved to a place where accurate seed scores and floors don’t play such a critical role. In particular, ZRS doesn’t increase nearly fast enough for new riders who start racing with a too low seed score. New riders who repeatedly finish in the top 5% of placements need to be receiving very large ZRS increases until they get into a range that they don’t dominate. Right now that does not happen from results alone, and the rider only gets bumped up quickly if the races require high 5min power output (and most don’t!).

No, we aren’t. But I would not say it’s “penalising” anybody.

This is a serious question, why something so simple isn’t made? Why those that are charged with making it and failed isn’t being replaced?

If something this easy is a challenge, then replace that employee and fill it with someone competent.

This whole ZRS feels like it’s getting its feet dragged because they put incompetent people on it. Look at IV, they have weekly reports with update of what they did and what they plan to do.

ZRS feels like it’s being dragged out because it’s past the Minimum Viable Product stage. Their contract with the PhDs is over, ZRS is finalized.

If that is the minimum viable product stage, they should just say we will use ZR.APP instead. This isn’t even beta. This is hard pressed to be called alpha.
