How reduce speed on zpower - I'm not that good!

I have a Garmin speed sensor and dumb turbo. I go much faster than I would normally be able to - it wouldn’t be a problem, but I don’t get to ride with many other riders because I’m overtaking them all easily. I have tried adding to my weight, but not much change. Any ideas?

Also is there any way of reducing the time lag between pedalling and what happens on the road? When I close the gap on someone who has overtaken me I always end up overtaking them again- even if I slow down quite a bit before reaching them.
