How do you get to the waiting area for meet-ups

I was watching the countdown for a meet-up that I had accepted in the game. I wasn’t riding at the time in the game but it didnt take me to the waiting area to join my friend to start the ride. What do I need to do next time? Thanks in advance.

@Caroline_Wood when you spawn on a course before an event there should be a box to the left bottom side of the screen saying “Join Event”. Click that and you will be transported to the pens for the event.
