I just drove my first race and, to my great surprise, I won, even though the top right corner of the screen said 32/66. Several drivers were visible directly behind me, and others were also visible in the distance, about 15 seconds ahead. The ranking lists me as the winner and the runner-up 0.5 seconds behind, and although there were several other drivers next to me, the third-place finisher is more than 15 seconds behind. How can that be? Can you see all drivers from all categories on the track? This is more than confusing, as I never know what place I am in my category.
is there rly no chance to see my current position within my group and the distances to the other riders of my group? To be honest, how should look like your race strategie if you dont know what position you are? Its very weird…
then dont do mass start races, that fun of mass start it how long you can hang with the main group with out blowing. then fall back fine group to race with.
I think there are not that many mass start races and I believe some of the mass start races only show you (within the riders nearby list) the racers in your own category/pen so you know where you position as the race goes along.
The majority of races show only your own category/pen.
However if you wish to do more of these mass start races, all riders visible and follow your category position during the race you might find the Live tab on your ZwiftPower account useful. The ‘live’ information is slightly delayed but I have found it does help identify the position and time gaps of those you are racing against.
If you go to the Live tab for the race results of your recent race you will get an idea of the information available to you during the race.
I never sign up for events in Zwift, I always use the companion app so I don’t know if the descriptions are showing up in game, I assume they do.
Another clue is looking at the different race pens start times, if they are separate/not visible to everyone they will be staggered so A pen starts at 1:00, B at 1:01, C at 1:02 ect… if they all start at the same time, then that should mean all cats are visible and it is mass start.
