You may need to manually reset yiur FTP first if using The Grade. If you go up at a power that equates to a “new" FTP of 300 watts but your FTP is already 350 it won’t give you a new FTP.
Set it to something suitably low (100w?) and then hit The Grade to get your new number.
Reset it to 100 as suggested and completed The Grade. Now have an ftp of 188 - which I’m very happy with. Hopefully from next week my training zones will actually reflect my ability! They were virtually all zone 1 this week until I took it to 100 and then it classed almost the whole Grade ride as red!

There’s a short workout called Zone Benchmarking that is worth doing before you do any other workouts. It’ll help you to verify that your FTP result has given you a good number for training, and will help you to calibrate your RPE (rate of perceived exertion) alongside power.
It’s always good to have a handle on whether what you’re doing feels the right amount of hard.
