Handlebar removal issues

Greetings,

I’ve been looking to change my Zwift Rides handlebars using the GPLama video as refference, but these 4 screws in the attached image will not unscrew whatever I do to them.

I’ve been using a 5mm allen key with some pretty good leverage, but none of them rotate even one bit. I’ve tried 4mm and 6mm but they do not fit.

Has anyone had any similar experiences or am I perhaps doing something wrong ?

I appreciate any help.

Have you tried a shot of 3M penetrating oil on each. Sometimes that works like magic. I hate how it smells and I wouldn’t slop it around especially on any plastic.

When you have a bolt you need to break free, impact is your friend. Rather than just levering really hard on it, an impact wrench with a driver bit that is designed for impact can work like magic. Penetrating lube or Liquid Wrench can help as well but impact is probably all you need. You can also do light taps on an allen wrench with a hammer (not talking about a big swing of the hammer here!). It’s important that whatever tool you stick in that hex head is an excellent fit, in good condition with sharp edges, and not made of soft cheesy steel or you will make a mess of it.

If all this sounds like a bother, pull out the handlebar assembly and take it to a bike shop.

Ended up going to a bike shop and solved the issue.

Thanks for the suggestions.
