10 Years and 3.4 Million XP: My Piggy Bank is Full!
Iâve been around since the Beta daysâback when we probably used wooden wheels and black-and-white monitors. After over a decade and 3.4 million XP, Iâve become a world-class expert at having my points âstolenâ and put into the Zwift vault. Itâs truly the only bank where you make a deposit and then have to do 5,000 burpees just to look at your own money!
If these new levels mean my points are getting kidnapped and âbankedâ yet again, I might finally take the hint that itâs time for this old Beta tester to go test the fresh air (or at least a different app). Iâve done my time in the XP laundry cycle, and my legs are tired of earning the same levels twice. Letâs skip the heist this year and just let those 3.4 million points run wild! My bike is ready for a new horizon if the vault closes on me again.
Delayed how? It was promised in April, itâs still April for 9 more days. Yeah, it wouldâve been nice if it were a couple of weeks ago because Iâd be 101.5 instead of 100.5 right nowâŚbut theyâre obviously waiting until this version is fully rolled out and then will flip a server-side switch and enable it for everyone. Itâs always âwah someone else got it before me because of where they are in the random rolloutâ now itâs âwah I have to wait a few more days after I get the update for this.â
From ZI: âAny extra XP you have over 807,000 at level 100 for cycling or XP over 149,000 at level 30 for running is banked and applied toward accelerated leveling. Cyclists with banked XP will accelerate through levels 4 times faster and runners will accelerate 2 times faster. Youâll know accelerated leveling is active if you see the three-chevron icon next to your rider score.â
If 4x isnât fast enough for youâŚI dunno, go ride more and burn off some of the stress youâre living with.
I think he means âdelayedâ in the sense that people will have to work through all of their âbankedâ XP, as opposed to being immediately moved to the appropriate level to match their current XP, this resulting in a âdelayâ.
Probably right. Though this is the fastest (and probably final) accelerated leveling scheme weâve seen. Donât like it? Ride more. Not like levels matter.
Sorry, but this is very lame. How hard would it have been to make seamless leveling up to, say Level 500? I donât understand why Zwift canât handle something so basic and simple (design a few extra jerseys and socks!). Iâve been stuck at Level 100 for a long time. This really makes me Rouvy curious. Not sure why Zwift doesnât seem to think rewarding your most avid users is important. And itâs not even clear how it will work. Lame.
Well, Iâm Level 118 right now. Closing in on 119. Iâve been keeping track of the bonus invisible levels after 100 which we get every 20000 XP. I guess accelerated leveling can be a new entertainment on Zwift!
The way I look at it, Iâm at level 100 and the day after the update I will have the opportunity to get to 101 with more riding. No matter how much Iâve ridden beyond the point of level 100 XP already (and no Iâm not going to work on spreadsheets when I could be riding) thatâs the reality that has always been with us.
