Hey all, is there a secret to selecting a course when taking a FTP Ramp Test on Zwift?
I shouldn’t matter, especially if you have a smart trainer with ERG mode.
if you’ve zwifted a lot, your brain may be conditioned to increased resistance on hills. for this reason, most people (including me) recommend a flat course for FTP test. it doesn’t make any physical difference which course you pick, but it can make a mental difference. tempus fugit is the go-to flattest course, but in general just avoid courses with climbs and you should be ok.
i’ve used volcano flat, NYC park perimeter (or astoria line 8), tempus fugit, tick tock and richmond’s fan flats as good “flat” courses.
