I Just want to see a little circular route that from the start pens in the West of the map, round the first interior section of Douce France then up the Petit KOM and back to that start. It’s totally doable with existing roads. France really struggles for short to mid duration routes.
I would love more mountains added to the France world , Ven Top is my favourite climb in Zwift and I would love to be able to ride Ventoux’s two other accents (I could also then be able to do a virtual club des chingles in Zwift )
France is known for many famous and breathtaking mountain accents in real life (Galibier ,Tourmelet , Madone , Aubisque , Croix de fer and Bonette to name but a few) so it is a shame to only have one climb in a world dedicated to the cycling paradise
Please add roads to France Zwift
I think you might be the first person to say VT is your favorite climb I have come across. To each their own, but having the climb up the opposite side which then ties into the rest of France would be really cool. As many have stated that having coastal roads into Marseille, Nice, Avignon type town would be really cool. Lots of opportunities for other climbs too. Could be a massive map.
Just found the post on Zwift insider. I am really hoping for an expension of the france area. Perhaps also an inclusion of the champs elysees via a subway to louvre (london style)
That would allow real TDF experiences on ZWIFT. What about a yearly Winter TDF event
I would love that.
I mean, France is getting one significant expansion this summer–one of the climb portals is in France, right?
Wait until you see it… What’s been teased so far does not sound much like a world expansion. More like a shortcut to offer some desired routes without the development cost. I’m not against it, but I doubt it will be anything like the Zwift graphical experience you know.
Yeah I know, but you have to ride France to get there. And then presumably you can leave there and go back to France? So…it’s kinda like an expansion.
I love ventoux and the rivera. [quote=“Stuart, post:1, topic:588570, full:true, username:Stuart_Moore_DIRT_44”]
EDITED (Improved) I am sure this has been discussed previously, but with some recent longer ride events around France, it is BEGGING for some more love surely?
There are a couple of road sections that seem ready to deploy (notably the straight road on other side of river to bypass ‘les intensines’, and others that have had a bit of a start made. Could link up various spots of the interior to create additional flatter courses, which are popular with group rides. Maybe add a river/canal along the centre area and have some nice little towns with some castles and bridges to look at.
How about a bridge out to Mont Saint Michel? And a quick lap around inside the walls. Imagine if the ocean could be tidal also … wow!
The Cote D’Azur would be lovely any time of year on Zwift. Fancy a ride along the coastline to a Monaco-esque town complete with Casino and Palace? Then a short climb return option, or just turn around and cruise back along the coast … Yes please
Then … importantly, lets get the other two Ventoux ascents in the map !!! Now given where they sit geographically in real life, some creative licence will be needed and a bit of “cut and paste”. I think it is totally achievable to have climbs in the spirit of Malaucene and Sault ascents to add to Ven-Top though.
Malaucene would start from the existing Pave Village area.
Sault would start from the eastern Coastline area at new “Monaco”.
Imagine the epic route for a Triple Ascent !!!
Come on Zwift … Vive le France !!

It’s my favourite as well. I just don’t ride it very often because it’s not always available.
ADZ I can just choose Road to Sky and be done, no having to do workarounds.
I definitely want more French climbs but I’m suggesting before to put them in Watopia where they are more easily available. Col du Galibier and Sarenne are the logical ones.
Bonette would be another good one but I suspect because it is so high and long a lot of people won’t ride it. Imagine being able to ride both sides of it.
All those I’ve mentioned I have done in real life.
Fortunately, Climb Portal is coming!! Hopefully we can use it in combination with rides in the rest of France too.
This would be AWESOME to have in Zwift!! I would LOVE a LONG DAY on the bike doing all the France roads with this possible update!!!
Was that just inappropriate?
Not what we asked for but it looks like we are getting closer…
