Im losing BLE connetion on my hometrainer in almost all my races. the funny part is that i can do a 2 houre robo pacer session no problem. when i log into race pen i loose resistence (but all status say Connected) other times it comes in the race.
windows 11 pc (all updated)
zwift ride (latest firmware)
Elite Direto XR. (latest firmware)
BLE kadence sensor ( new battery)
Garmin heartrate monitor (all ok)
my conection: all via BLE. usb cable run from pc to a new ASUS dongle mounted on my trainer. as close as possible. no phone or other devices to “steal” connettion, ethernet 500/500 speedtested. wireless BLE settings on my pc is disabled.
today i will try to let the trainer control the cadence also.
any advise is wery welcome
Do you know which model of Asus dongle it is?
I’m not aware of any association between activity types and the likelihood of a dropout.
A couple other things you could experiment with:
- The Direto supports sensor bridging for the HRM and cadence sensor. That would cut the number of Bluetooth connections to the PC. https://elitesrl.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/6881370065554-Bridge-connectivity-for-heart-rate-and-cadence-sensors-with-the-Justo-Justo-2-Avanti-Rivo-Direto-XR-and-Suito-training-rollers
- Make sure your dongle is plugged into a USB 2 port if available. You should avoid USB 3 ports unless there’s nothing else available.
first try with the trainer controling the cadence still had a issue when logging in the race pen, but it only lasted for approx 1 min.
What’s the model number for the dongle? Do you know which chipset is in it?
Its a Asus BT500
chatgbt. Surgests me to shorten my usb cable (current lenght is 2 meter) so its Max 1 meter Is says that usb 3.0 ports Can some times create interference.
I have orderet a New dongle TPlink UB500 more windows 11 copatible and I Will shorten my cable.
Fingers crossed.
It seems like the Asus BT500 is using a similar chipset to the TP-Link Bluetooth 5.x adapters. Not sure if it’s exactly the same (they don’t publish that info).
Whenever a USB 2.0 port is available I would always prefer that.
Computer Only has 3.0 ports
