Hi, I’ve just had a complete stop during a ladder race and on screen a box with ‘change detected’ and ‘pair’ .
Absolutely no idea what happened and never had this before.
While I went to re-pair it seemed to reconnect itself to the wattbike in gear 12 as it would when first started.
And off I went nearly 40 seconds behind.
Anyone got any ideas or experienced this?
Hi, @Dave_Grindle, welcome to Forums! I’m Francisco from Zwift Support.
Connection issues and the accompanying pop-up messages can be frustrating during a ride. I’m glad to help.
I checked the server logs and noticed a pattern of disconnection issues with 1 BLE coming from the Wattbike Atom on December 12, 2024, December 13, 2024, and December 16, 2024. All of these instances are related to the Wattbike.
Have you checked for any pending firmware updates? To do this, open the Wattbike Hub app and start a “Quick Ride.” If a firmware update is available, the bike will prompt you to update. The process should be quick, although the duration may vary depending on the specific device.
Calibration
Warm Up: Warm up the bike by pedaling for at least 5-10 minutes.
Access Calibration Mode: On the Wattbike Performance Monitor (PM), access the settings menu and look for the calibration option. …
Follow On-Screen Instructions: The monitor will guide you through the calibration process.
Hi @Francisco_J just to clarify, the 12th and 13th problems were due to me setting up another wattbike in a garden room and testing different wireless access points to get a decent internet connection. so I can explain them.
I assume when you checked the logs that would be my account as tonight I was using my wife’s wattbike which I’ve done most of the time in the past.
I’ll check out your troubleshooting link and see if I can get to the bottom of this. I’ll also check the logs in zwiftalyzer as well but to be honest this is probably beyond my understanding.
On a side note, I don’t usually have too many connection problems with my Surface pro but my wife has regular disconnects with her iPad 5th gen, which I think is starting to struggle running zwift especially with crowded rides/ races.
I’ll just add, the wattbike is a wattbike atom and not the pro trainer which uses the performance monitor. There is no user calibration options on the atom, it’s set in factory.
This one just been serviced last week so should be fine, did need a new chain which was very stretched!
I had exactly this happen for the first time ever in a race earlier tonight. I dropped out of the lead group. The message disappeared very quickly & I was away again but 20s behind. I run Zwift on a PC. I use a Wattbike Atom.
This is Haziel, Zwift Support Specialist, I checked your logs and I noticed that there have been some interruptions with the signal, likely, Zwift isn’t receiving all of your data packets via Bluetooth (BLE).
Besides checking the Bluetooth connection, we recommend using the Zwift Companion App as a Bridge this method allow a stable connection that might help to avoid future inconveniences.
If the issue persists, please contact us, and we will be happy to assist you.
This has happened again since just like that and last night during zrl but without the screen, it reconnect quickly and didn’t spoil the race as a whole, although it did happen just before a points sprint!
I’m gonna try the advice and connect through the companion for a bit, although it feels like that would add an extra device/connection to the chain.
I’ve not had it happen since. I did try what Haziel suggested but couldn’t get it to work. So I’m leaving things as they were. Let me know if it works for you.
It should work on an iPad too, if you’re running the Zwift game app on your PC. An iPhone would be another option though. Did you follow the article that Haziel linked? What part went wrong?
I did it this morning and it seemed to work fine. I’m on pc and use iPhone for companion which needs to be switched on obviously.
Once zwift loads to connection screen on pc, change (top right) to ‘pair through phone’.
It did seem to take a while to connect but got there in the end, no more than a minute.
I also had music playing through the phone which didn’t affect it.
I have a Wattbike Atom NG, a Coospo armband HRM & Zwift Play controllers. When I go to pair on Zwift I see 3 boxes for the bike: the bike itself, resistance & cadence. Add on the HRM & Zwift play controllers & that makes 5 things to connect. So that lot should be ok pairing through the iPhone? I’m going to try later & take my time.
