Different Zwift Version per PC User

This is something I’ve noticed for a long time but it was never a big deal until now. I have multiple (four) Windows accounts on my PC, each running Zwift with its own Zwift account and user settings. When Zwift updates roll out, each Windows account gets the newer Zwift version at different times, even though they are all launching C:\Program Files X86\Zwift\ZwiftLaumcher.exe. Sometimes the Zwift Launcher will even “update” Zwift on an account multiple times for the same Zwift version. (Confession- for most of the past the other users were launching ZwiftApp.exe and not ZwiftLauncher.exe, but I corrected that and it has not helped. Even so, launching ZwiftApp.exe would open the Zwift Launcher anyway and not the Zwift app directly.)

For the past 1.5 months, my family was shut out of Zwift because of the Computrainer pairing issue. It was finally resolved with Version 1.108 and my family is excited to ride again. My user account updated Zwift today to version 1.108 but three are stuck on 1.107 and can’t ride. In fact, those other three accounts ran 1.108 once when I was testing them, then on the next launch they “upgraded” themselves back to 1.107 and are stuck there for now.

Is there a way to make all Windows accounts run the latest and the same version of Zwift? Since there is only one Zwift program folder for the entire computer, I don’t understand how and why different users get different Zwift versions. I want to keep the separate profiles since sometimes we all ride at the same time. But it would be great if there was some way to link them to the same Zwift version, in particular version 1.108 right now. It certainly does not make sense to be downloading Zwift four times (or more) for the same update.

I also can’t help but wonder if my troubles today are complicated by Zwift moving the data file location out of Documents and into AppData. I noticed the file location change in my windows account that runs Zwift 1.108 but not the other accounts that are stuck on Zwift 1.107. I tried copying the settings files from my account (other than prefs.xml) to the same new location in AppData and deleting the Zwift folder in Documents in the other accounts, but that did not help.

As a follow-up, I uninstalled Zwift, deleted all the Zwift folders from each profile (under Documents, AppData/Local and AppData/Local/Temp, and rebooted the computer.

I reinstalled Zwift from the primary administrator account. Same behavior. The primary account runs 1.108. The secondary non-administrator accounts run 1.107.

So then I logged into a secondary account and reinstalled Zwift, but without first uninstalling Zwift and deleting all the Zwift folders. Launched Zwift again, and version 1.107.

This makes no sense. Can somebody please help?

Thanks.

contact support, the community can’t fix this as Zwift controls who gets the update. Maybe all your accounts can be tied to the same computer number somehow so they all get the update at the same time?

They’ve not rolled out 1.108 to all “accounts” yet, wait a few days.

Thanks everyone who chimed in. I did reach out to Zwift support who said they elevated a request to have all four accounts upgraded to version 1.108. In a day or two they all did get version 1.108, and before Zwift support repported back. So I suspect it happened randomly and not from my request.

FWIW, I informed Zwift support that all accounts were now on 1.108 but I still requested simultaneous updates on all four accounts on my PC if possible, since it gets annoying when one account gets an update, then when launching the other accounts, they will downgrade Zwift and then the upgraded accounts re-upgrade Zwift - basically frighting over the version. No word yet on whether that will happen or not.
