MacOS 26.3 is still beta, perhaps it has still some issues.
Could also try it once you are in a ride rather than on the pairing screen or home screen since frame rates will be lower once you are riding. I’m not sure if this will help but might be worth the attempt. I’ve only used Tahoe up to 26.2
yeah, that makes sense
yeah, I’ve tried it in ride….crashing still.
Yep, same issue. Even having to start Zwift 2-3 times before it will even run. Was working fine Tuesday, and the latest Tahoe 26.3 beta update was applied Thursday, so guess something is broken in there.
Using Zwift on MacOS. After updating to the latest beta (26.3 beta 2) the app crashed when maximizing to full screen.
Others experienced it and found a solution?
Some comments over here
Zwift is not supported on beta versions of macOS but hopefully they’ll sort it out by the time it’s released
Yes confirmed this behaviour with Mac Pro 7,1 and Radeon Pro W6800X 32GB.
Pretty sure it will get addressed, don’t think there is anything you can do.
Same problem here, after accidentally updating after forgotten to turn of beta updates :-/
My solution seems to be to drag window to screen size until fix on official release
Same issue here - MacBook Air with M2 - did not experience with prior public beta version
Hi @Arnt_Eirik_Hansen @Lou_Glaser , welcome to the Forums! I’m Francisco from Zwift Support.
Hi folks, FYI, there is an official support page from Apple on how to turn off beta updates. As a reference:
Thanks for posting.
Ride On.
Apologies, but I have to warn against restoring back to an older version of MacOS - this takes a lot of effort and time, that’s an extreme option and should be a last resort.
I would suggest to use the windowed mode for Zwift for now until the issue can be resolved. Other than the issue with full screen mode, Zwift seems to be working without issues for me in 26.3 Beta (25D5101c).
I have checked on two different machines using MacOS 26.3 beta:
There may be some small quirks I haven’t observed in normal operation, but aside from what is reported already, most other things seem to work normally.
For folks looking to use the beta versions of MacOS (either developer beta or public betas) be aware that some things might not work as expected. That’s part of using beta versions of software and Apple isn’t always perfect, that’s why they have betas so users can report what doesn’t work or what should be changed using the feedback app.
After this latest update, I can no longer launch the game in a maximized window on macOS (M1 Macbook Air) and have to subsequently launch the game a second time and leave it in a window otherwise it will make the application crash.
macOS 26.3 Beta 3 has resolved this problem for me. Hopefully it doesn’t come back in another beta
You should expect instability from any beta release. If that’s unacceptable do not run Zwift on beta releases.
I can also confirm that 26.3 beta 3 has resolved the issue for me.
But it has other glitches, namely the framerates have tanked by about 15-20fps. This is also in other games, not just Zwift. I assume Apple’s feedback app has been burning up over this. ![]()
Apple has changed something to do with the graphics. Also on some machines the cursor displays in a corrupted way. Another known glitch.
All you can do is use the Feedback app and give clear reports on the glitches.
The latest MacOS 26.3 available seems to resolve this crash to desktop with full screen.
I checked with a M4 Pro Mac Mini.
Oh really? I haven’t experienced any other issues with graphical errors or FPS drops within Zwift (I don’t play other games on my Macbook Air, so I cannot attest to other games)
