Correct way to ride with Classic Trainer

Hi I’m really enjoying the Zwift workouts.

Now I’d like to get more out of it, without have to buy a smart trainer :).

So currently my Elite Digital Trainer is set to Level 3, which is sort of ok, but then I’m not really riding the hills in Watopia. So for people like me on “dumb” trainers what is the best way to get the most out of a Watopia ride? Should I increase the resistance on the trainer to try to match the %gradient shown the Watopia course?

Anything obvious I’m missing?
