Companion App is auto rotating upside down?

Sorry I thought this was about the companion app (didn’t reread the years old thread!)

For Rotation Control, you have to have the app running, but then you have to pick the rotation you want from the pull-down menu. I use that for the Comp App too, although never with the main Zwift app. But you do need to choose your rotation, not just start the app.

Thanks, I just tested it using a landscape orientation. It does seem a bit less sensitive, but I could still get it to rotate when I flip the phone over.
Maybe that’s normal.

The app should have settings to force certain orientations. For example, an icon for a landscape screen, and then an icon for a landscape screen with an R in it. That should force landscape and upsidedown.

If you try that, and also disable the normal screen rotation on your phone…?

Yes, I did see those icons. I tested them, both with and without the R. All apps except the zwift game itself are truly locked. It’s only the zwift game that can still flip when the phone is reoriented.

Well that’s irritating. Can you turn off rotation in your regular phone settings? If you do that, does it kill the Rotation Control app? Or could that work?

Incredibly, the phone control is so sensative that even vibration can get the game twirling around :face_with_crossed_out_eyes:
The app it really a improvement. I will post again after my next running/riding test.

It kept rotating upside down for me, even with auto-rotate disabled on the phone, Samsung A33. So I uninstalled Zwift, and then installed it again from the Play Store, with the phone held at the orientation I wanted, the exact same as it would be on the exercise bike, as the app was being installed. When I opened the app it stayed the right way up this time. I did a test ride and it stayed the right way up all through that. I hope it stays the right way up again tomorrow. BTW, I also had auto-rotate disabled as the app was being re-installed.
