Yes, it looks that this is solution for this issue. I have test this few times and it seems to work.
This was the solution I found as well. However, it does not appear to hold between reboots.
This same fix also works for wifi connections with trainers.
Thank you, that fixed it for me! No reinstalls needed.
Zwift was listed but the toggle was turned off.
Macbook Air M1 - 15.1.1
iPhone 14 - 18.1.1
Hi, i’m having the same issues on Windows, iphone is running ios18 and i can’t see companion in setting → privacy security → local network
Deleted both, and reinstalled, and it worked for maybe 2 or 3 rides, and now Companion won’t connect to the app again. Got all of Apple’s ,1 updates and everything else seems to be working great. I also had the Zwift app go to over 200% CPU last week and took the Mac Mini I use in for the Genius Bar to give it the once over, and it passed everything.
Beginning to wonder if Zwift has been tested with the .1 updates. That was what the Genius offered as a reason for it to do that. Companion ran fine through that mess, but couldn’t get consistent updates from the Zwift app.
MacMini M2, iPad gen 9.
Thanks! Also wanted to report that although Mac M1 said the toggle was ON, that didn’t matter. Simply toggle on/off/on and companion immediately connects again
The Companion app is not listed in “Location services” Which indicates the IPhone doesn’t know it needs it. (I’m running IOS 18.1.1) I upgraded to the latest IOS version last week. Two days (tuesday) everything was still working. I
This is what I have tried so far. I’ve un/re-installed the companion app, both on a Iphone 12 (IOS 18.1.1) and a IPad (IPad OS 15.8.3). I’ve installed ran The Zwift application on a Windows 10 based laptop and (re-installed the app) & also the Ipad. I’ve used two different Wifi accesspoint points one by TP-Link and one by Ubiquiti. All these in all the combination I could make. The problem remains the same. The Companion app displays the spinning wheel with the text “Loading map”. Everytime I close the Zwift application the Companion app default back to its main screen… This synchronicity indicates to me that both the Companion app and the Zwift app can connect to eachother over my various networks.
No idea about iPhone, but I am using Companion on an old mobile phone (Android 9) in flight mode, only WiFi switched on. Location services off.
I have a MacBook Pro and iMac. Both are installed Zwift but I use only MacBook Pro with trainer. Both have a Sequoia iOS and both are in a same wifi network. Companion app connecting perfectly to iMac but MacBook Pro I have to go local network setting and toggle Zwift off and then back on almost every time. iMac I have a M1 chip and MacBook Pro have a Intel chip. Can’t tell what are the other differences and why companion app connect to iMac perfectly but not to MacBook Pro.
