Sometime between 9/25 and 10/5, the name displayed in the chat popup has been changed. Before it would show the rider’s full nameplate, like “J. Lemon - ZTR” says…" Now, it simply shows the first initial, so the popup becomes “J. says…”. which effectively makes it impossible to determine who is making the comment.
Is anyone else seeing the same thing?
Dunno about that, but often I see no name at all. Just the text.
This happens if someone is on the other side of the map/they’re too far away from you. If you’re seeing this happen in game when someone is actually located close to you, let us know!
Hrm… But is it logged as a bug? I want to know who’s speaking even if they’re on the other side of the map.
There currently seem to be three distinct behaviors:
display full name of speaker (immediately close?)
display only first letter (WTF?)
display blank nameplate (speaker is “far away”)
I’d say that the last two are bugs - “D. says…” is kind of useless; with 200+ riders, and only 26 letters, this doesn’t tell me who is speaking. It might as well be an unattributed comment. I agree with Daren - I want to know who is speaking at all times.
