Really appreciate that it hasn’t gone up in so long. Perhaps you didn’t need to though as during COVID everyone and their dogs signed up. Yes you have to maintain a certain level but as I said 1/3 increase is too big a hit.
People are riding outdoors! You can’t assume that because the numbers are down that people aren’t riding somewhere else. People suspend, or drop their Zwift subscription through the summer (and are apparently lucky enough to live where there is ‘good’ weather, not just ‘weather’) and pick it up in the fall/winter.
If I had better weather around here int he summer, and easy access to trails and events, I’d probably be riding more outside. (well and younger, uninjured, etc)
BUT it could be that people are just, as seems industry wide, dropping cycling because they can do what they did before (thinking they are safe from infection). I don’t know if there are up to date info on Peloton rider numbers, but they are likely seeing decreases too, and likely across the rest of the apps too. Looking at the totality of the indoor training apps and their ridership would be far more informational than looking at a snapshot of the number of riders in a single instance.
But I HOPE that Zwift doesn’t hit pavement. Riding indoors has been a godsend to me for the past 4+ years, and if ‘the majors’ start dying, and no one steps in to continue it, it’s going to be a huge loss for me and others.
I joke about being a lab rat, furiously working for my food pellets, and people say I’m obsessed to ride, and the wife says (more importantly) I am ADDICTED to my own bodies heroin and go through withdrawal if I don’t ride often enough. I will take it extremely hard if the options start disappearing. My ‘so called life’ outside of riding will suffer.
Ride on!!
Totally agree, I don’t see why they didn’t just increase it annually in line with inflation, then we wouldn’t have had this big hit, and maybe folks would have stayed.
For me personally i normally free ride, and do a couple of group/club rides a week on Zwift, and maybe very occasionally a ramp test/ work program, all of this i can get with the competition, so yes I will be going
Annually, Zwift was $180 in 2023, and in 2025 will cost me $200 now. That’s +11% over 2 year change.
Still haven’t received the mail. So my prices stay the same
No, annually was 150, now is 200, thats 33 %
I’m an Apple TV user and bill through the App Store and I’m also still waiting for the mail.
2023 had no annual plan, so it was $180
when I was riding a few hours after this was posted there were 3,500 plus showing on a lovely warm sunny evening.
Qustion to all the Leavers that are still somehow posting on here, how are the competition doing with concurrent rider numbers ?
anyway about to do a late evening ride with 5,000 showing on the app.
I don’t believe my forum account is tied to my subscription, which of course is still active for some time yet. So either way, I can still post here.
I suspect many like me will continue to use Zwift until subscriptions expire. We have after all paid for it.
180 to 240 is the change in us dollars…33% increase.
If I could just get a 33% raise, then all is good.
If you opt to pay monthly, it’s $240, but that is not a wise decision.
Whether that’s a wise decision or not depends upon whether you hide on Zwift during the summer or get outside in the fresh air
19.99 a month? never happen (said someone at the time)
From Zwift survey awhile back. Sounds like someone voted yes to this survey.
It’s possible to do both actually.
I imagine most of the complaining on the new pricing is from the part-timers who are only paying for 3-4 months a year anyway.
I too am canceling and trying other alternatives….i have never even paused my subscription…looking at the other options.
One of the few times zwifts glacial pace of change has benefited the customer.
Wow, how prophetic is this now?
I said no to all the pricing plans then too.
I will reread this thread soon.
Just was notified when my subscription renews it will be going up 33%. I am definitely cancelling for the summer which I have never done in 4 years. Any advice on other alternatives people like. I believe Rouvy is 12 or 13$. Do people like it? Other options? Looks like my days on Zwift after 7000 miles are over.
