Think positive - if he continues to race each day is he in 20 days there (less than Tour de France goes)!
Can someone help me understand why my race results keep being around 480-something, yet my ZRS will not drop below 526?
I went from being a mid C to getting dropped after 5 minutes in the Mad Monday races (500-650 for that specific category).
Does this mean my seed score is 526 and that it will never drop below that? And if so - is there a way to tell what 30/600s effort has put me there? Zwiftpower doesnāt display 600s. My highest 30s stems from segment-sprints on a z1/z2 group ride Iām part of hosting each saturday morningā¦

Could be something to do with the setup of the Mad Monday races. None of the results show a change arrow, it might be set up to use Racing Score to set the pens, but not to change the scores.
Your 30s and 10min power records are visible on your profile on zwift.com. It shows the date each was set
Mad Monday is a points race and it is excluded from changing your ZRS score.
The numbers you see in results for score are just some random numbers from what i can tell.
That would defeat the purpose of ZRS, wouldnāt it? Fair enough, I do ride a bit, but I donāt race too much. If someone just stuck to races that would not impact the ZRS, they would basically just use their seed score and nothing else?
Seems I will need to drop out of MM for a few weeks and suck at races that actually does impact race score.
On that note - how can a system that brags about taking all your activitity into consideration not include primes-racing?
This is something for ZHQ to figure outā¦they should have Points Races built in Zwift to give accurate results and not just on ZP.
Or they should use ZP results as the official one and not zwift.com
Blockquote Simply they could add a formulaā¦once you win 5 races in a month you go automatically to higher groupā¦or somwthing like thatā¦(I know it is not so easyā¦)
They may well have looked at what the score would do to people with around 5 wins a month and make sure they were upgraded. You won 6.2 races per month from December to September.
Hi there, great thoughts. I hadnāt picked up on the bell curve point but makes sense.zwift are clearly iterating so perhaps thatās a next step. And I do agree on the point about taking other ridersā strengths into account too. Itās not very evident that the game is doing that in a nuanced way at the moment. But Zwift have come miles from the Wild West days and they clearly havenāt stopped working to improve it so chapeau to them.
Ok, now Iām really confused about the racing cats and the range 1&2 divisions.
I raced Flat is Fast London flat today, group D range 1.
My ZRS was 262 and I placed 12 out of 75 and score increased to 266.
That seems predictable.
But, I look at the results on zwift.com.
The 7th place finisher got bumped up to 303.
How is that possible?
5th place got bumped to 287.
Did these people start the race under 270.
Is the pre race pen assignment only for GROUP category and not Range 1&2?
These riders did nothing wrong but Iām surprised to see them in the range 1 race with their scores
I figure I have 1 more race until I get kicked up to range 2.
They had 5 minute PBs and raised their score floor
If your reply was to my observation that those 2 riders ended up with ZRS well above the ceiling of 270, then are you saying that a 5 min personal best raised their floor by over 33 points?
I just looked back at the results and now I see what you mean.
I would have thought the initial seeding would have been close enough that we wouldnāt see a 33 point jump.
It was also hard to find the results.
Look at Zwift power or zwift.com or the ZCA.
I finally found all the data at ZCA.
Results are just stupidity organized and unnecessarily difficult to access and extract information.
I went from ZRS 273 to 369 in the course of the four Tiny Races on Saturday, mostly on the strength of my 5 minute PR since the power reset. IMHO, this is a good example of the folly of using 5 minute power for seeding. There are several very short races in which you can put down a pure 5 minute effort and all that tells us is how fast an individual is for 5 minutes. A 10 minute AND a shorter duration like 2 minutes would make much more sense. The 30 second should never have been part of ZRS as thatās just pure sprinting. Yeah, I know, this isnāt gonna happen after all of the yelling and handwaving over the ZRS V1 - V2- V3 debacle week.
Somewhere along the short history of Racing Score since summer '24, this results based racing system has got off to an awful start.
V1 and V2 seed score were a mess, initially using 10min and 30sec power, to then ditching 30sec power.
Weight adjusted Compound Score in V3 seed score has improved things, but reprocessing results from the V1 and V2 period was a bad decision as v1 and V2 put racers together who should never have been in the same pen, rather than resetting everyone to their 100% seed score.
I still wonder if seeding got far too complicated and we could have used the 0-1000 scale to make the five pen system spread the old four pen system out out better using just 5mins W/Kgā¦

I think not considering ability of racers that beat us and those we beat to decide changes in score, as per a vELO ranking system, was an awful choice.
If Iām predicted to finish 55th out of 100 in a Tiny Race on ability but finish 25th, I should get a significant Racing Score increase.
If I finish that same race 57th, my Racing Score should decrease a little.
If I finish that same race 75th, my Racing Score should significantly decrease, providing I put in a 5min effort within x (90%?) of my recent best.
Simply coding that I get an increase for finishing approx 55th, regardless of who should have beaten me and who I should have beaten is such a lazy and crude ranking system.
I donāt agree with how we have racers able to do 3W/Kg+ for way longer than 5mins, for some closer to 20mins, able to race in the weakest pen with a Racing Score under 260.
Heck, the ability of some with a Racing Score under 210 is bonkers.
Virtual cookies for those who made it to the end of another moan by me!
Itās seem easy to throw off systematic estimations. You coming in 55th is under 1 attempt. What if you tried to make a break, do a bike swap that went wrong. There are many situation that could work on paper that goes horribly wrong that send you way off the front pack and you end up soft pedaling.
