If you read the conversation then you’d see I repeated things to other people who replied in a way that was clear they hadn’t read it - and at least 2 have said they didn’t. So if you saw something repeated that’s why.
I don’t understand why you would feel the need to read every post if you weren’t interested - I gauge interest from replies. If someone replies, I’ll reply. One bizarre person suggested something about “having the last word” - but I think he’s an argument waiting to happen. I’m not. I have no interest in debating anything. This is, as I said, feedback for the developers to improve zwift or not.
There’s nothing in zwift that hasn’t been repeated over and over for nearly 10 years now - that’s because the issues are obvious yet they are never or barely addressed. If you’re reading a zwift forum anywhere you’re going to get repeats, but I’m not having a conversation with myself here, if you don’t want to see posts stop making them - and you added nothing to the conversation at all.
We get it. However, a lot of people are perfectly happy with how Zwift runs on their device and would say that it runs smoothly tor them. It’s fine for you to have a different opinion, but it would probably help you to get that opinion across if you calmed down a bit.
Different users have different expectations on how they want the game to run. For instance, a PC gamer may well have a different view on what frame rates and resolutions are acceptable to them compared to another Zwifter who isn’t a gamer and just wants a convenient way to run Zwift while they ride.
I’m not trying to negate your opinion at all, but coming across as very angry isn’t helping here.
The 3d aspects really are nothing. You should remind yourself of the PC hardware requirements. Zwift insider has a good article here - specifically the point here is that if you approached speccing a PC to run zwift as you would a 3d video game then you’d overspec and not significantly improve the performance.
It doesn’t run well. And my expectations are not unreasonable at all because, unlike something like apple TV, tablets and phones are like PC hardware, generally increasing in capability and performance over time.
Whereas zwift runs just as badly on the latest hardware as old hardware with performance capped - if a new video card comes out someone at zwift has to enable it to run well - no 3d video game works like that. It’s not unreasonable at all to expect zwift to run better than it does. Noting this isn’t asking for anyone to improve the graphics zwift has, just to give it the graphics it already has on other platforms.
Or failing that, make using those other platforms work better. (But as I said they have a zwift shop selling a tablet holder. I’m only suggesting they make that a product worth buying)
Really though at this point I just want them to improve the experience if you use a remote PC over steam.
Don’t gaslight. I’m perfectly calm and not angry. I’m not here to convince you, argue with you, or debate you. What would that achieve in any case? The only people who can improve this are zwift (at least under the current terms and conditions we agree to, which I see some projects like Sauce appear to be ignoring)
Perhaps that would work too, can zwift change their terms and conditions or at least clarify their meaning as to whether we can write our own software to fix our experience with zwift, and if so to what extent can we share those changes with others?
i think as long as you aren’t reverse engineering anything or doing anything illegal with other user’s data then you’re OK to do whatever, but 3rd party stuff is generally a grey area
zwiftpower, zwiftracing.app, sauce etc are all OK with zhq, but there was an app in the past called “zwift activity monitor” that they weren’t happy with. the ToCs are vague on this point so zwift could basically shoot down anything if they wanted to but i think the tacit implication is “3rd party stuff cool with us, unless we don’t like it”
i’m not a professional lawyer so take that advice with a pinch of salt
that article was written by the owner of ZPCMR, btw. just thought i’d toss that one out there
I think this thread is supposed to be about whether or not you’d pay for upgrades. It seems maybe someone else should start a different thread about tablet performance?
On the topic of paying for extra, the fact that there are over 10K sauce users paying monthly for better data that Zwift can’t provide for an competitive advantage, it points to the fact there is a cash to win/advantage market.
How much would you pay for a Tron 2.0 with new skins and 2kg lighter than the current tron and better aero wheels?
I don’t see the need for monitoring Zwift that closely to need a second account. But I only have about 69,000km so maybe I’m not serious enough about Zwift.
assuming all of them are still currently active and aren’t just mishandling their personal finances
edit: minus another percentage who are just paying for additional sauce for strava features. that demographic could even represent the majority of his patrons as far as i know, but let’s just say probably 20% as a guess.
there is a point in there though, since you like talking business. we’re both guessing, though i’m guessing from justin mayfield’s patron page. zwift don’t have to guess, they’ll know the exact number and when and where it makes sense to spend money
from what i understand they’re ok with letting justin continue to do his thing and for users to decide for themselves whether they wanna use sauce or not. kind of a tacit agreement. myself, i don’t use it, but i think it’s good that it exists for people who do want to use it
