Can't get Virtual shifting working on Zwift bike + Kicker core-2

I just bought the Swift bike and Kicker core-2. I haven’t signed up for Zwift because I want to figure out how things work first.

The Kicker Core-2 came from the factory with the Cog installed.

I used Whoosh and connected everything, the Z’s on the handle bars are Green. The buttons on the drop portion of the handles bars don’t seem to do anything.

I also used the Garmin Edge 1050 bike computer to connect to the Swift Bike and Kicker Core-2, Z’s turn Green also No Bueno.

Please help this old newbee figure out what’s wrong.

All firmwares came from the factory with the latest firmwares. The bike is in my possesion for four days.

The Zwift Click virtual shifting is designed to work only with Zwift, though there are some workarounds to get it to work with some the apps. So, if you want the virtual shifting, you’ll need to sign up for Zwift in order to check it out. (I think there’s a 14-day trial period for Zwift.)

Zwift only supports using the bike with Zwift and Rouvy. If you want a general purpose indoor trainer setup to use with all the apps, the Zwift Ride isn’t that. That would be something like a Kickr Bike. You can however use it in ERG mode with any app or a cycling computer because you don’t need support for the controls on the Ride to do that. That is entirely between the app and the trainer, and the trainer has no limitations on what you can use it with.
