Hi, I’ve been using Zwift on AppleTv with a Wahoo kickr core for some years now but have been finding the cadence response is getting progressively worse. I use the kickr itself for the cadence. I’m finding that when I come off the power, especially if going fast, the cadence jumps to around 120rpm, despite being nowhere near that. Also when hitting the top of a climb, I’m unable to get into the tuck position on the downhill as it still thinks I’m pedaling and will take a good while to recognise that is not the case.
I’ve regularly calibrated through the wahoo app and kept firmware up to date, but nothing helps.
Thanks for the details. This is Haziel from Zwift. I know cadence issues can affect your training time. I will share a couple of things that are worth checking:
First, can you confirm if the same issue also happens when using the Wahoo app? This will help narrow down whether it’s Zwift or the trainer itself.
Try using the same device (Apple TV) for consistency when testing.
Make sure all your devices have had a proper reboot. Unplugging each one from power for at least 30 seconds usually does the trick, which includes your Zwift device, Zwift Companion device, trainer, etc.
If the issue persists, let us know if it also happens on other devices besides the Apple TV; this could be a tablet, a phone, or a PC. That info will help figure out if it’s device-specific or something different.
Those steps give us a clearer picture. If you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please feel free to contact us. We’re here to support you!
