Hi, It’s been noticed by a few people that there is an odd/annoying brightness flash on all nearby riders backsides, seems especially noticeable on black or dark kit. Example on the YT clip below. Running the game on PC with 3060Ti GPU but doesn’t seem performance related.
@shooj or Anyone at Zwift acknowledged this one?! Seemed really bad today the flashing was almost constant.
Thanks for reporting this, and for including the video, that is very helpful. We’ll route this back to the team for investigation.
Any update on this one Evan? Once you’ve seen it, it does get rather annoying.
Thanks
Hi folks, we’re working on some changes to improve this for the next game release, version 1.87 (not 1.86 which is rolling out this week, the release after that).
I’ve noticed on Android that, very often, I appear to be riding in a spotlight, with the shade on the ground erased before me as I proceed. I haven’t noticed the same effect on Windows. I don’t understand why it happens. What’s the design intent?
Sample below where I’ve carved out a lovely light patch around me that follows me (mostly) wherever I go.
Note how abruptly my spotlight terminates at the side of the road. It’s just really weird. FWIW I clean installed only a few days ago. Samsung Tab S7 Plus, if it matters.
Hi @Tim_dODZ, welcome to the Forums! I’m Francisco from Zwift Support.
Thanks for bringing this up and sharing such a detailed description—it’s really helpful.
The spotlight effect you’re seeing on your Samsung Tab S7 Plus does sound similar to some visual issues that have been reported by other members, such as shadows or unusual lighting behavior affecting avatars.
Reports:
- Avatar Kits appear to have a permanent shadow on the left side
- Members report annoying visual flashes on riders’ backsides.
Our team is actively investigating these kinds of graphics-related quirks to pinpoint and resolve them. Your report helps us better understand how these issues appear across different devices, so we appreciate you flagging this.
If we have any updates or need more details from you, we’ll be sure to follow up. Thanks again for your patience and for taking the time to share this with us!
