Consider using a trainer tire on the bike.
Your best experience would be to replace the trainer with a direct drive type if you can afford it
Yes trainer tires are typically low volume, and smooth, and designed to resist the wear caused by the roller on the trainer. Your outdoor tire will be worn out more quickly by using it on the trainer, and it may slip on the trainer. You can find trainer tires manufactured by brands like Continental, Schwalbe, Vittoria, Tacx, and there are cheap knock-off versions as well. They are also designed for the high pressure recommended when using a wheel-on trainer.
