Backyard ultra idea

Hi Zwifters !!!

I really like the idea of a backyard ultra (last athlete standing in running 6,7km loop on the hour).

Have this concept ever been tested on zwift?

If not, is there some crazy zwifters who would like to try something like that?

I’m thinking about a 12 or a 24 h to test the concept. Take a route not too long (akin to 20km with a bit of elevation). Start on the hour. DQ if you dont take the start or dont finish the loop. If more than one remain, we do it one last time, but its a race.

What do you think?

You would need to have a camera on each runner, and using your arms as support in any way would be a DQ. I’m pretty sure those were in the rules when Laz held the remote backyard due to Covid. You mentioned elevation, that would require that all treadmills match Zwift elevation, most runners do not seem to do that

There is one, his name Yannick

Was thinking about doing this on bike

I’m sure deep inside, there are other crazy ones waiting for this kind of challenge :winking_face_with_tongue:

Ah, that would be different (I’m a runner by default), in which case you’d probably want a course that a recreational rider can cover in 50-55 minutes while at Zone 2. Remember “It’s easy, until it’s not”
