Avatar won’t move— all devices connected an showing data in game

Hello,

I’ve been riding Zwift for years with the same setup— Zwift app on my iPad, wahoo kickr. Today I cannot get my avatar to move! If I join a paced ride as soon as pedal assist stops my avatar stops

All my Bluetooth items say they’re connected in the startup window— power source, resistance, cadence, and even handlebars.

I can see my cadence, watts in game when I pedal and can shift gears and create more resistance…. But the avatar just sits there!

Only other clue is my jersey is now default orange … but my bike and visor etc are the same?

I’ve tried all the power off/on tricks, restarting app and iPad, etc. I don’t know what else to try!

Check if your membership is paid up: https://www.zwift.com/billing/membership

If that’s not showing active, you cannot ride.

Yep, says active! I have it set up on automatic payments and nothing has changed with my payment method… so strange

Do you have any device with the braking feature, like Play controllers? Brakes stuck on is the other possibility but if you don’t have that, it can’t be the reason.

Hmmm I do have the handlebars! but I don’t feel high resistance when I pedal. I tried restarting them without any change with the issue. Is there an easy way to tell if the brake is stuck on?

There is a tail light that will shine brighter when brakes are on.

Other things you can try are going into Zwift settings and moving Braking Sensitivity all the way to the left (off) or just not pairing the handlebars and see if you go anywhere. If those things help, and firmware is all up to date, do a reset of the handlebars (hold down big Z 30+ seconds) and if it’s still busted, contact support as they may replace them.
