I’m getting a lot of dropouts lately on my Elite Avanti (MacBook Air and Apple TV). Watt goes away for about 5 seconds before it comes back. I do not get any messages on screen. Power just goes away and comes back like nothing happened. This happens during workouts with ERG, races and free ride.
I tried to connect the Elite Avanti to the Elite-app simultaneously and that connection seems to stay connected, so something seems to be wrong with Zwift.

Uploaded yesterdays ride and Zwiftalizer shows a bluetooth disconnect/dropout at the time I had a dropout (as I already knew) but I cannot see any relevant information to help me finding out why it happened … Am I missing something? @Craig_D_Mart https://zwiftalizer.com/public/753a490b-6c30-44dc-b740-331bca56b1a7
How did you know you had a Bluetooth disconnection? You didn’t mention anything indicating you’d already looked at radio logs. It could have been zero reading from the trainer instead.
Are you using the Companion App Bluetooth Bridge or the Apple TV’s Bluetooth?
What’s the distance?
What possible interferers do you have in your location?
Is your body between the trainer and the Apple TV? (or phone if you’re using companion bridging)
Bluetooth is directly from trainer to Apple TV or MacBook Air. Everything has been working fine all winter with the Avanti, but in May I started getting dropouts. I suspect that the firmware update for virtual shifting is the reason, but haven’t seen anyone else with Elite Avanti report this problem.
I see now that users with the Neo have similar issues after they got the virtual shifting update, so maybe there’s something related to that.
The virtual shifting involves a much bigger message being passed back and forth, so if your connection is borderline or lower speed it’s more likely to fall behind, have errors, or drop some messages, and after a number these the Bluetooth connection is likely to reset, which is effectively a dropout with Zwift.

I found brief but continuous Bluetooth disconnections from the Elite Avanti trainer in the recent sessions. The usual cause for BLE dropouts is wireless signal interference. Check out this article for tips on common reasons and how to prevent this from occurring.
